ITS STORY
The mosque was built before 1490 by Arap Mehmed. The date 1858 over its door probably marks repairs after damage in the 1855 earthquake. Today it is well kept and open for worship.
History
The mosque was built by Arap Mehmed before 1490.
The date AH 1275 / AD 1858 is written in watercolor on the entrance door of the prayer hall. This date probably indicates that the structure was badly damaged in the 1855 earthquake and was subsequently repaired. The mosque is well-maintained and open for worship.
Architecture
The interior dimensions of the square-plan building are 8.65 × 8.65 m, and to the north there is a three-bay narthex with a depth of 3.90 meters, with a dome in the middle and vaults on the sides.
