ITS STORY
According to its inscription, the mosque was built in 1467 by the merchant Hacı Sinan. One story says it takes its name from pilgrims who could not go on the hajj that year and built it with their money. Its decoration is among the finest of its kind, and the painted ceiling of its wooden gallery survives.
History
The mosque was built by Bakkal Hacı Sinan in AH 871 / AD 1466. He has two more mosques in Bursa. According to the narration of Mehmed Şemseddin Ulusoy, a group of pilgrims who set out from Anatolia to perform the hajj came to Bursa, but could not go on the hajj that year for various reasons.
Architecture
