ITS STORY
The building was erected in 1492 by Hoca Yakup to provide Quran education. Featuring two dome-covered rooms around a courtyard, it was designed with summer and winter sections. Its large garden houses gravestones of the Haraççıoğlu family and the former Sa’dî Lodge. Today, the structure is used as an annex to the Üftâde Quran School.
History
It is known by different names in the sources such as “Haraççıoğlu School” because of the graves belonging to the Haraççıoğlu family in its garden, “Yerkapı School” because of its location in the Yerkapı area of Hisar, and “Dar al-Qurra” because it was built for the purpose of Quran education.
Architecture
Batı cephesindeki tuğla örgülü, sivri kemerli kapıdan girilen avlunun kuzey ve kuzeydoğu yönlerinde, üzeri kubbe ile örtülü iki bağımsız oda yer almaktadır.
