ITS STORY
The building was founded in the early 18th century by Cizyedarzâde Hüseyin Ağa as a Naqshbandi lodge, and his son turned it into a madrasa. Most of the books donated to its library are kept today in the İnebey Manuscript Library. The present building was rebuilt in 2006 and is used as a community centre.
History
The madrasa was built as a Naqshbandi Sufi lodge by Cizyedarzâde Hüseyin Ağa in the early 18th century. During its founding period, it was mentioned in the sources as the Naqshbandi-i Cedid Zawiya.
Architecture
Today, the original structure of the madrasa has not been preserved. In its current state, it consists of a large hall and a small room adjacent to it, located in a garden. The large hall is entered through a door with several steps leading to it on the east side. There is a mihrab on the south side of the hall.
