ITS STORY
Located in Çekirge and presumed to have been built by Sultan Murad I in 1365–66, the complex is also known as the Kaplıca Imaret. Having the madrasa on the upper floor above the mosque is the first and only such example in Ottoman architecture. The building features an alternating masonry of cut stone and brick.
History
The Sultan Murad I Hudâvendigâr Complex, which was built on a hill overlooking the plain like other imperial structures in the Çekirge District to the west of the historical city, does not have any construction inscriptions that have survived to the present day.
Architecture
