ITS STORY
The mosque was built as a dervish lodge by Bedreddin Pars Bey, a courtier of Murad II, before 1445 according to its endowment deed. It was rebuilt after a fire in 1801 and damaged in the 1855 earthquake. The old mosque was entirely demolished in the 1980s and replaced by the present domed one, which keeps no historic features.
History
The mosque, which has no inscription, was built as a zawiya by Bedreddin Pars Bey bin Abdullah, one of the courtiers of Sultan Murad II. Pars Bey endowed the villages of Yazır and Umurbey, along with vineyards, gardens and mills, to his zawiya. The fact that its endowment charter is dated 1445 indicates that the building was built before this date.
Architecture
Kırma ahşap çatılı ve alaturka kiremit kaplı olan caminin son cemaat yeri ve zemini de ahşaptan inşa edilmiştir.
